In the recent period, the number of ticks in Europe has been increasing due to global warming. Ticks transmit encephalitis, Lyme disease, ehrlichiosis, anaplasmosis, babesiosis and other serious illnesses which are difficult to treat. In order to avoid giving up the adventures of outdoor activities, we developed a special yarn PROLEN® IXO, which decreases the retention of Ixodes ricinus (a tick, which is most commonly found in Europe) on a textile fabric.

PROLEN® IXO was developed in collaboration with the Institute of Parasitology of the Slovak Academy of Sciences, the University of Veterinary Medicine and Pharmacy in Kosice, the Institute of Biological and Ecological Sciences of the Pavol Jozef Safarik University in Kosice.

Prolen® IXO is produced as Prolen® DTY IXO 84 dtex/33fil x1, 84 dtex/33 fil x2, 110 dtex/33 fil x1 and 110 dtex/33 fil x2 in colours P-104, P-505, P-6154, P-665, P-7156.
